How to Choose Our Service
What process and service you should choose, depends on which step you are in. If you are just at very beginning holding a concept to design, the better way is rapid prototyping. Then you can base on your budget and material requirements. If you are at the step of design testing, there’s still a better way for rapid prototyping. Here are the common options for reference:
Process | Plastic Production | Metal Production |
3D Printing | Thermoplastic-like photopolymers, Nylon, TPU | Titanium, 304 Stainless steel, 361L |
Vacuum Casting | ABS, PC, PP, Nylon, ABS/PC | |
CNC Machining | ABS, PC, PP, Nylon, ABS/PC, POM, Delrin | Aluminum, Alloy Steel, Copper, Brass, Stainless Steel, P20 Tool Steel, |
If you want to get the market trail, you should choose small-volume production. When you all confirm your market target are satisfied with all functions of your product, then you can try full production.
The Importance of Choosing the Right Material
When you design a product, first of all you need to clearly know what it will be used for. Then you need to consider the conditions under which the functions of the product will be realized. For example, edible grade needs to be met for the food containers. The heating device needs to meet high temperature resistance. Chemical vessels need to be corrosion resistant etc.
Manufacturing Guideline
There are several steps to help you get your success in your products:
- Have an engineering background help your design right. When you start drawing your design, you need to think about how to hide industrial manufacturing defects in some of your designed shapes, what surface texture can be made, how to communicate the color in a professional way with your engineers.
- Make sure your engineer clearly understands your tolerance requests. And at the same time don’t set too much tolerance on one product.
- When you make rapid prototyping, you need to consider when it becomes production, how’s gaps between those 2 different processes.
